Payments with MBWay

Lemonway offers its partners the ability to accept payments through MB WAY, one of the most popular mobile payment solutions in Portugal. MB WAY allows customers to make payments directly from their smartphones using the mobile number associated with their bank account. Through Lemonway's integration, partners can easily offer MB WAY as an additional payment option on their platforms. At checkout, customers select MB WAY and provide their mobile phone number. A payment request is then sent to their MB WAY app, where they can securely review and authorise the transaction. Once the customer approves the payment, Lemonway processes the transaction and updates its status. Partners receive the payment notification and can manage the result through the integration. MB WAY provides a convenient mobile-first payment experience, helping partners cater to the preferences of Portuguese customers.

Portugal's leading mobile wallet uses an instant push-notification token model. The payer stays on your redirect page while verifying the transaction on their smartphone screen.

Your platform calls /apm/init with PaymentMethod set to mbway.
Lemonway creates the transaction in Pending status and returns a redirectUrl.
Your platform redirects the payer to the redirectUrl.
The payer receives a payment request in the MB WAY app and confirms it.
Once the payment result is known, Lemonway updates the transaction and redirects the payer to your returnUrl, cancelUrl, or errorUrl.
